We are hoping to start some fly-tying courses aimed at anyone who is new to tying, they will run on a weekday night and will cover all basic techniques. Each week we will cover a different fly from Buzzers, Nymphs, Lures Wets and Dries.
We are only looking for 5-6 people and the course will last for 5 weeks at the cost of £80pp all fly-tying materials will be included and we can supply vices and equipment to anyone who has not got there own.

Important information from Ellerdine Lakes - during cold weather conditions, if there is
a frost and ice, airators will be activated to keep the lakes open.

Monday 3rd March 2014
An exciting end to the final of the Monkey Match last Sunday, going right down to the last peg to decided the winner.
Top rod on the day and taking the £500 first prize and a Wychwood rod was former double world champion Iain Barr of Peterborough, he used cormorants fished on a slime line and a floater to return 19 fish, catching on every peg he fished. 2nd place went to Mark Harrison of Walsall who returned 16 fish using the same method. 3rd place with a respectable 12 fish was Andy Taylor who fished lures and nymphs on a floater.
Best fish of the competition was caught by Gordon Hollinger Shrewsbury who had a 9lb 12oz fully finned Rainbow.
24 anglers fished for a rod average of 7.9.

Saturday saw the first heat of the World bank masters with 21 anglers trying to reach the final at Elinor fishery in Northampton in April.
Top rod with 14 fish and 21 points was Jim Rigby helsby, 2nd Andy Scott 13 fish and 20 points Northumberland, 3rd Ed Upton 14 fish 19 points, 4th Rod Goldthorpe 12 fish for 18 points, Roger Ablett staffs 11 fish 17 points as did Evan Miller Wrexham in 6th.
Every angler caught fish in the match for a road average of 8.1
23 recorded doubles were returned over the last 7 days with the largest at 15lb 14oz by Steve Holt Worcester who used a egg fly on Marsh.
In total 154 anglers fished the week for a rod a average of 7.2
