The Lakes at Ellerdine

We have four well-established spring-fed lakes here at the Ellerdine Lakes Trout Fishery: Cranymoor, Lakemoor, Meadow and Marsh. Each lake has its own individual character, but all are well stocked with Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Blue Trout, providing an excellent day of fishing. The average size is 3lbs but much larger fish upto 20lb are caught daily.

The lakes which have been designed for ease of casting usually have clear water which makes them an ideal stalking water. At Ellerdine Lakes we believe that everyone should enjoy a good day's fishing, and so we have provided disabled access to each of our lakes. Areas in close proximity around much of the lakes have been cleared of obstacles enabling wheelchair access as close as possible to the waterside. We also provide a disabled toilet in our on-site facilities.

Ellerdine Fishing Report
September 5th 2014

We have now reopened for the new season at Ellerdine, lots of maintance work has been carried out, while we have been closed, hopefully improving the fishing further this year.

Our first initial stocking of 650, had fish up to around 15lb, with lots of fish around the 3lb mark, we are due to stock every week from now till Christmas, with the next stocking on the 11th Sept, a big proportion of these will be over 5lb, which will also include many doubles.

Already anglers are returning up to 12 fish a session, with Black Fritz, Cats Whiskers and Buzzers all working.

We were also delighted at Ellerdine to be voted the top 20th fishery in the British Isles, as voted by Trout Fisherman Magazine last month.

We have many clubs and businesses booking days at Ellerdine over the next few months; if anyone is interested please do book early as spaces are becoming limited.
